SOLD OUT History in Our Backyard: The Homes and Farms of Fahnestock Park

Gather at the Putnam History Museum on 10/9 to hear a talk on the historic homes and farms in Fahnestock State Park, including how the Fahnestock family left a lasting impact on Putnam County.

Before Fahnestock was a state park, it was home to miners and charcoal burners, dairy farms, and long-gone manors. It was only through the intervention of the Fahnestock family in the 1900s that brought these various plots of land together and turned it into a park. Join us in-person at the Putnam History Museum for a talk by local expert Paula Andros on the origins of Fahnestock, including Clarence Fahnestock, Helen Hubbard and the Perkins family.

The PHM 2025 Lecture Series is made possible through the generous support of Preston Pittman, Tim Wallach & Fleur Fairman, and George Whipple III.

The event is finished.
