Mekeel’s Corners Cemetery and Chapel Chat
Join us at the Mekeel’s Corners Chapel on Saturday, October 5th to learn about this historic church and its accompanying cemetery with Mekeel’s Corners Chapel Board President Mark Forlow. Mark is also the Village of Cold Spring Historian and the Board Chair of the Putnam History Museum.
The historic Mekeel’s Corners Chapel, located at the intersection of Route 9 and Route 301 in Cold Spring, was built in 1867 and was the center of a community of farmers, miners, and travelers heading up and down the Old Albany Post Road. Don’t miss a rare opportunity to visit the inside of this historic structure and learn about its history and significance to Putnam County!
The program will include Mark Forlow’s presentation and an optional walk to the historic cemetery afterwards. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mekeel’s Corners Chapel.
