Thomas F. Hayden Lecture Series Presents: Thomas Cole and His Views

Thomas Cole, the founder of the Hudson River School, provided us with wonderful views of the Hudson Valley, Catskills, New England and imaginary landscapes. Cole’s paintings also provided us with his views concerning the United States, his adopted country.

Barry Ross will survey a number of Cole’s paintings and take in the views during this virtual lecture to celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd at 7:00 PM.

Barry Ross practices law in New York City as Senior Counsel at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, an international law firm. Ross was a partner at the firm (and its predecessor) for over 35 years. Before the Covid pandemic Ross conducted tours at the Metropolitan Museum for third and fourth graders as an ArtWorks NYC volunteer. Over the past year he has been the Facilitator of the “Exploring and Enjoying Art” sessions offered by SelfHelp’s Virtual Senior Center. Barry has had a home in the Hudson Highlands for more than 25 years.
