SUMMARY:History Hike: Cornish Estate Ruins
DESCRIPTION:SIGN UP HERE ( https://www.eventbrite.com/e/history-hike-cornish-estate-ruins-tickets-588334041957 )\nThe ruins of the Cornish Estate are perched high above the Hudson River, and are shrouded in mystery. Learn the truth of the mansion that once graced the mountainside, and see the landscape that inspired Hudson River School painters like Thomas Cole. This hike will be led by Thom Johnson, a lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley and creator of the newly-installed trail signs on the Stern-Cornish estate, located just north of the village of Cold Spring. Thom will lead a hike through the west half of the Northgate estate where the main house and other structures were located. During the hike he will present historic photographs of the buildings and information about the Stern and Cornish families.\nThe tour will last approximately one hour and thirty minutes. It is an easy hike, with a short rocky portion at the entrance to the trail.\n
